“Unlike all the other art forms, film is able to seize and render the passage of time, to stop it, almost to possess it in infinity. I’d say that film is the sculpting of time.”

– Andrei Tarkovsky

Blue Moon Art House Productions (BMAHP) is a production team based in Brisbane, Australia, with a focus on supporting local emerging filmmakers and actors. We provide motivated individuals with the opportunity to produce their own short films and act in their desired roles, and are passionate about making films that are meaningful and entertaining.

Formerly titled Blue Moon Art House, BMAHP first emerged in 2014 as an art collective that represented the work of 25 local artists. It operated as a pop up shop at the Boundary Street Markets in West End and sold various arts, crafts and books by artists working in a variety of disciplines including photography, jewellery making, painting and poetry.

In 2015, Blue Moon Art House expanded into Blue Moon Art House Productions, with a focus on the production of short films and distribution to short film festivals. The goal of producing these small-scale film projects is to gain exposure at short film festivals, attract sponsors and explore funding options for future projects, such as feature films.

BMAHP is formed in collaboration with film students across Brisbane.

In addition to short films, BMAH collaborate with local artists and musicians on a number of projects including web series’, music videos, documentaries and TV commercials, broadcasted on the Blue Moon Art House Productions YouTube channel.

BMAHP’s mission is to become the largest film production in Queensland by 2020.
